They’re here! They’re here! And now for the second installment of my hunt for the perfect Warby Parker frames! If you would like to read about ordering my home try-ons, check out Part One. The frames I received were definitely worth more than $95 a pop. The quality matched that of a typical $250 pair of designer frames. I was very happy with my try-ons! Shall we?
They came in a classy show box like so:
And on to the trying on!
The Zaggs are definitely the family/friend favorite. I like them; although I feel like I may be playing it safe since the shape is similar to frames I’ve had in the past. The duo color is really pretty, but sometimes the clear felt like “safety goggles.” I don’t know, though. I think I’m trying to find reasons not to like these because everybody likes them. You know, the punk rock thing.
The Prestons are my personal favorite. They’re cute and quirky, and the keyhole bridge doesn’t look as bad on my nose as I thought it would. I’m not sure about the Sandalwood Matte; I’d be curious to try it in a different color. I do think they are big on my face, but that’s the point, right?
I really like these Sinclairs but I think they just don’t look right on my face. Too round, maybe? The Burgundy Fade is so pretty, though.
I couldn’t take a serious picture with the Owens because I felt so goofy in them. The bridge is too thick for my liking. I love the photo on the left though, I look like the smartest girl ever. EVER.
Just: haha. Definitely need a certain nose for the Fillmores.
I’m not 100% in love with any of them, so I’m planning on ordering a second Home Try-On box. The Zagg & Preston are my top contenders right now, though. In cruising Warby Parker-related hashtags on Tumblr (I’m on Tumblr now, you guys), I came across a post written by Megan, who used to work in the WP showroom. She’s offering personalized recommendations of Warby frames. Of course I jumped at the chance and submitted a photo that best displayed my super square jawline. She responded quickly with suggestions for my square face shape: the Beckett, Wiloughby, Colton, Ainsworth, and Sims. So I’ve got my next round of frames planned out! If you’re looking for somewhere to start frame-wise, I suggest sending her a submission!
So what do you guys think?
