Last weekend some of my family got together at my cousin’s new house in South San Francisco. It’s been so long since we’ve all been at the same place at the same time (I think Christmas was the last time?), that we wanted to make sure to make it a point to spend time together. So of course, this was the perfect opportunity to drag my boyfriend along to meet the rest of the family.
Before family time, there was that disappointing Warby Parker thing. To lift my spirits, the boyf and I walked around looking for a place to get brunch. We passed on a cafe with penises on the table and opted for a cooler internet cafe called Quetzal. I had what is probably one of my favorite breakfast dishes, a bagel with cream cheese and a bowl of fresh fruit, and he had the BLT. The bacon was perfect sandwich bacon, he said. ‘Twas very good!
After that, we walked around looking for a bakery. Gotta bring some noms to a family gathering, know what I mean? We found this delicious rustic peach and blueberry galette from Lotta’s Bakery on Polk Street. It was to die for. One of my cousins baked some Oreo Cheesecake & Monster Cookies that were also delicious. My uncle harvested some tomatoes and corn from the backyard and it felt like the first Thanksgiving.
And as we do, there was an obligatory family photoshoot. Here’s one of “the cousins” with my Tito Cielo at the bottom. This was our “funny face” picture:
My cousins Josh and Angela (she made the Oreo Cheesecake goodies!) and my brother, hulking out.
This is my cousin Anne Marie. She’s been my best friend since we were little. We used to write parody songs and called ourselves “Glaze” because we liked glaze donuts. She’s currently living in SoCal working as a designer for Fox Racing Inc. I love her. Chanel, their family dog, is pretty cute too.
Oh by the way they have another family dog named Gucci. So there’s that.
When it was time to step outside for OOTD photos, my family decided to have a photoshoot of their own:
And now, time for the OOTD in the streets of my cousin’s new South San Francisco neighborhood:
Okay, let’s talk a little about this outfit. I found this cardigan in the little girl’s section at Target. It also comes in a gray leopard print (see: recent instagram). I fit a size Large, and I’m usually in between a Women’s Small or Medium. Such a good find.
Essie’s Penny Talk is still on my nails. Even as I type this now, it is still hanging on. I personally think this rose gold can go with both silver and gold jewelry, which is probably why I love wearing this metallic so much.
As you may remember, I went a little crazy with Abercrombie & Fitch’s $39 jean sale after ripping my beloved Joe’s. In fact, I influenced both my best friend and my mother to buy multiple pairs. These are ridiculously comfortable, just as comfortable as my other designer jeans. I bought seven pairs.

And introducing the man behind the camera… my boyfriend, Ian! I asked if I could snap some quick photos of his outfit because most of the time, he’s dressed better than I am. I call this his “Meeting the Family” ‘fit.
Look at this guy. How can you not love him?
