My Altuzarra For Target Wishlist

Happy #AltuzarraforTarget eve! Here are my favorites from the fall 2014 Altuzarra x Target collaboration. Lots of slinky, sexy numbers here. I’m keeping in mind that this fall/winter, I have a wedding and a holiday party to attend. I’m hoping to nab something for one (if not both) occasions.

I hope you’re ready for this. I found a lot of good staples last month that have made their way into my daily rotation.

1. 100% Pure Mint White Tea Tonique – I originally purchased this toner to use as a makeup setting spray, but I’ve also been using it during my daily/nightly cleansing routine. When my skin needs a little more hydration, I mist all over and let the toner sink in. Otherwise, I usually mist all over and wipe it up with a cotton ball. This toner smells wonderful, and keeps my skin feeling taught. It sets my makeup nicely and keeps it from looking cakey.

2. Kjaer Weis Creme Blush in Suntouched – I received this sample at Veer & Wander, a salon and apothecary in the SoMa area of San Francisco. The rep there said it was the perfect natural color for my skintone, and after using it almost every day, I totally believe her! It’s a beautiful, youthful coral that brightens the complexion. It’s very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I think I’ll purchase a refill of this once I’m finished with my sample.

Why Paint Won’t Hide You From Predator

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen “Predator” or not, but it was one of the movies I agreed to watch with Ian when we first started dating so he would think I was cool (also: the entire “Alien” franchise). There’s a scene in the movie where Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character covers himself in mud to avoid being detected by Predator (awesome cameraman burp at 0:46, by the way). You see, Predator has heat vision. It locates its targets via thermal imaging. The mud that Arnold used was supposedly colder than 98.6° F, and helped to mask his own heat signature.

All this got me thinking: this Modesto fella had the right idea, but poor execution. He was found in a shed, which leads me to believe that he covered himself in either spray paint or some other utility paint. Yeah, he had the dark of night on his side, but he didn’t stand a chance against heat detection! Plus you guys, that’s like, really bad for your skin.

Henri Bendel West 57th Contact Lens Case Review

I remember the first time I tried on contact lenses. It was an awful experience, trying to touch my eyeballs for that long of a time. It was frustrating and I’m pretty sure I cried because I couldn’t get the lenses in no matter how hard I tried. My mom was downstairs letting me “figure […]

January was a very experimental month for me. Lots of sampling and returns. I discovered some staples, both clean and ‘dirty.’ I found myself reaching for these products the most: 1. Alba Botanica Natural Very Emollient Body Lotion, Maximum – I’ve been on the hunt for the right body lotion that will keep the dry […]
